Classes shape how you approach a run in Survive The Swarm, but balance can change with weekly beta updates. Read the current in-game class description before spending Essence, then choose the role that matches your gear and the content you want to clear.

How to Compare Classes

Factor What to check
Swarm control Does the class help keep groups away?
Boss damage Can its bonuses support focused damage?
Survival Does it provide room for mistakes or safer movement?
Gear fit Do your current weapons and gear reinforce the class?
Team role Does it cover something the co-op group still needs?

Do not spend resources only because a class is called “top tier” in an older guide. Confirm its current bonuses and compare the improvement with your existing progression. Codes can provide reported Gold or Essence rewards, but their availability can change.

Mode Planning

For a first run, favor a class that supports a simple, balanced plan. In the 20-map Gauntlet, value consistency across many encounters. In Infinite Dungeons, use a class whose bonuses remain useful as the run deepens. In co-op, coordinate roles instead of making everyone choose the same class.

See the codes page for reported resources and the build guide for a complete loadout checklist.
